Safeguarding Our Customers
Equity has a policy in place to protect and safeguard our customers from all forms of abuse.
We train and empower colleagues to recognise and report any concerns which they may have about customers.
We want to improve the quality of life and wellbeing of our customers and that’s why we’re asking you to let us know about anything you see or are suffering which doesn’t seem quite right.

What is Abuse?
Abuse isn’t always obvious and can be difficult to talk about. People who are being abused may not feel confident or comfortable enough to report it. Here at Equity we see it as an essential part of our role in recognising the signs.
Abuse can be:
- Psychological or emotional
- Financial or material
Our colleagues are responsible for ensuring the protection and safety of customers, particularly those who are young or vulnerable. If a colleague suspects a customer is suffering from abuse they will involve that person at all stages of the reporting process and take their wishes into consideration.
