SK Eight hosted a fundraising day on Saturday 15 October as part of Social Saturday, a Saturday specifically aimed at encouraging people to buy from Social Enterprises, businesses that put people and the planet first.
The day brought an array of activities for everyone, including face painting, a raffle with prizes donated by local businesses and fantastic live acoustic music by local artist Chloe Jones.
All money raised on the day will be donated to the North West Stroke Association, who also brought their choir along on the day to entertain customers.
The day also gave SK Eight the opportunity to announce the winner of their very first community fund with a landslide victory to Walthew House. Every month SK Eight provide a voting system where customers can vote with a coffee bean for local community groups chosen by Equity Foundation to receive £100 towards their project.
Carolyn Gaunt, Manager said “Social Saturday was a huge success for SK Eight, many thanks to everyone who got involved. We have many more events planned including a Stroke Café and a Blood Pressure Awareness Day.”
